CTFLC Christmas Gathering 2013

Kling! Kling! Klang! Klang!    Pasko na Naman!   O kay Tulin ng Araw….!

Before the Christmas celebration, we gathered together for the year-end 2013 CTFLC meeting. The membership focused on the University of the Philippines Concert Chorus (UPCC) fund-raising activity with the University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) of San Diego, which will be held on January 13, 2014 at the Chula Vista High School Performing Arts Center.

Afterwards, CTFLC President, Mary Rose Peralta presented a Plaque of Recognition and Appreciation to Dr. Cristeta Dumaran (Founding President) and Mrs. Rosalina Idos (Immediate Past President) “for their steadfast efforts and continued commitment shown for the initiatives, growth, promotion, development and success of CTFLC and the Filipino Language and Culture programs in San Diego under their able leadership and for their invaluable contribution in the field of teaching and education.” For our honorees’ responses, they gratefully and proudly thanked everybody.

The festive voice of the carolers rang through the residence of Dr. Estela Matriano and Ms. Carole Caparros, hosts of the gathering, on December 21, 2013. This CTFLC Christmas Party was the most awaited event, because we just enjoyed the day with good spirit, joyful laughter, and delicious Filipino dishes.  There were no agenda to fuss or worry about; we only enjoyed each other’s presence.

However, before caroling, CTFLC enjoyed a sumptuous meal, which was filled with Filipino delicacies such as lechon, pancit, etc.  For the dessert, puto bumbong, kutsinta, etc. lined the table. This was followed by the “Brown Carabao” exchange gift, which was fun-filled and culminated the event of the day.
