Rizal Day 123rd Celebration

December 30, 2018, Ditas Yamane and her colleagues Dr. Cudal and Mrs. Reyes facilitated the Wreath Laying Ceremony to commemorate the 123rd Celebration of Dr. Jose Rizal, Philippine National Hero.  This was held in front of Seafood City at National City. CTFLC organization headed by President Myrna Ablana sang the Philippine National Anthem "Lupang Hinirang and the American National anthem "Star-Spangled Banner." Then, Hon. Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis, Mayor of National City and Philippine Honorary Consul Audie de Castro headed the wreath laying ceremony. After the ceremony, participants proceeded to COPAO Center for refreshments and a forum on Dr. Jose Rizal's influence on the Cultural Values of the Filipinos.

Maikling programa nang sinimulan na Ni Principal Lalaine na ubod ng sigla Kanya pong sinabi na sa puso niya Di man magsalita, isang Pilipina.   Ang CTFLC, ipinakilala Ni Myrna Ablana, sa mga bisita Nagpasalamat s’ya, sa lahat-lahat na Bawat isang miyembro, umindak, kumanta.   Sa saliw ng uke nitong si Julita Nangibabaw mandin boses ni Maria Sinigundahan pa ni Gloria, ni Lita Ni Virginia at Grace, ni MRose at Linda.   Di rin pahuhuli, si Briar, si Jackie Naku, nakangiti, enjoy rin si Sally Si Susan, Aurora, at saka si Dolly Dumagdag pa mandin itong si Juanita Si Salvador at Rey, si Riza, at Ana Kahit bising-bisi at di maabala Taginting ng tinig abot sa Tijuana. Community of Practice (CoP) 2018

Last Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the International Student Center, San Diego State University, Southern Area International Language Network (SAILN) hosted CoP 2018. Different foreign language organizations gathered together to provide updates and reports regarding activities and programs that enriched and strengthened teaching of foreign languages and culture.   This event was well-attended by different groups namely: Arabic Language Group Dari/Pashto Language Group Filipino Language Group Mandarin Language Group Persian Language Group Portuguese Language Group Heritage/Native Spanish Speaker Group Dr. Mathias Schulze, Director of the Language Acquisition and Resource Center (LARC) of San Diego State University, encouraged members to invite more participants and to continue an engaging foreign language program.   Myrna Ablana, CTFLC President (2017-2018), and CTFLC members namely Susan Chrismen, Rizalyn Cruz, Rosalina Idos, Salvador Idos represented the Filipino Language Group.   Ri
